 Programming Languages


HTML

HTML which also stands for "Hypertext Markup Language" is a markup language used for creating the structures of web pages. It contains "tags" to create headings, paragraphs, adding bolded words, adding images, adjusting the sizes of fonts and images, adding bullet points and etc. (Chris, 2021).

CSS

CSS which also stands for “Cascading Style Sheets” is a computer language composed of coding elements used for structuring and creating webpages (Css,2023).

Javascript

Javascript (JS) is an object-oriented programming language used by developers to create webpages that users could interact with by adding interactive elements such as clickable buttons, pop menus, animations and etc. (10 Practical Applications of JavaScript & Tips for a Successful Career, 2023).

Python

Python is an "interpreted, object-oriented, high-level programming language" developed by Guido van Rossum which was first released in 1991. It is used for software developments, mathematics and web development (What is Python?, 2023).

Ruby

Ruby is an object-oriented programming language used for multiple purposes in various areas in computer science such as we development and data analysis. It contains English-like syntax and very intuitive which makes it more user-friendly (Jalli, 2022).

Internet website cookies 

Cookies in websites are small pieces of data used to identify the user and their computer. It helps to improve the users' web browsing experience. There are two types of cookies: HTTP cookies and Magic cookies. HTTP cookies tracks, personalize and saves the users information while browsing websites. Magic cookies are information that are sent and received without any changes which are commonly used for logging in to the "business internal network" (What are Cookies?, 2023).

Page source

It is the raw or original text composing of HTML tags typed by the user creating the web pages to display the web pages that the audience would see everywhere on the internet (Brain, 2023).

Meta tags

Meta tags, also known as description tags, provides information about the metadata such as author and keywords for HTML documents. However, meta tags are not displayed on the HTML web page (Rouse, 2017).

jQuery

jQuery is an "open-sourced JavaScript library" that simplifies how the web applications are created and how it is navigated. It is a widely used JavaScript library that manipulates CSS elements to create effects such as fade-ins and outs for the website (Gillis, 2019). 

Hyperlinks

They are in a form of graphics or texts that can be clicked on with a mouse which would direct the user to another web page (Hyperlink, 2023).
