Alt Tags

Alt tags are used in html to display alternate texts for images when the user could not view the images because of some error such as poor internet connection. The alternate text usually describes the appearance or function of the image (Alt Text, 2021). 

Alt tags provides information of the displayed image to the search engine that informs the user of it. This also helps in increasing the web page's ranking in search engines. Without the alt tags, screen readers and browsers won't be able to read the page and the image will not load correctly. Alt tags provides alt text that describes the image which is very helpful for visually impaired users. This is the reason why alt tags are important for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) (Why Image Alt Text is Important for SEO, 2011).

Title Tags

Title tags are used in html to display the web page's title. The title of the page is an accurate short description of what the web page is all about. The title tag provides a headline that is clickable to the users and is an important element in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) (Ellis, 2023).

According to Mizrachi (2022), title tags are one of the important meta tags that plays a role in increasing the web page's ranking in search engines. It is very easy to use title tags and requires minimal effort to create a perfect result. A perfect title tag contains long-tail keywords with a specific language that captures the audience's attention and brings more visitors to the web page. Long-tail keywords are more descriptive and specific words without any click baits that helps in gaining high quality traffic to the website unlike a vague title which will gain less attention.
